With multiple 1st place wins and a state champion title already under their belts, the Gladstone High School varsity cheerleading team traveled 1,000 miles to Anaheim, California to compete in the biggest competition for high school cheerleaders. USA Spirit Nationals, an annual event held in the Anaheim Convention Center, served as a venue for cheerleading teams across the country, who were prepared to perform a variety of routines for the opportunity to win a championship title.

Gladstone came prepared with three separate routines, one traditional routine, and two game day routines. The team placed 12th with their traditional routine on day 1 in one of the most competitive divisions at the event. On day 2, Gladstone performed their two-game day routines with undeniable spirit, sass, and energy. The hard work paid off and the team won 2nd place in the Game Day Band Dance division and 1st place in the Game Day Situational division.

Nationals marked a conclusion to the 2021-2022 cheerleading season, making the victory one of the most important of all. To celebrate their achievement, the Gladstone community gathered at the high school the night they returned to show their support and celebrate.
